The Duke of Edinburgh initiated the School's International Award Scheme, which recognizes the efforts of young students to improve the society.

ISM, each year, gives Gold awards to students who secure in aggregate - 90% and above in the Science stream, 85% and above in the Commerce stream and 75% and above in the Humanities stream in the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (class XII), held by CBSE. Students who secure 90% and above in the aggregate in the All India Secondary School Examination (class X), held by CBSE are also given Gold Awards. Silver Medals and Certificates are given out to students who secure the highest marks in a subject with A1 grade.
